Is your wardrobe missing this ONE key piece?

…and four other ways that Jigsaw is killing it right now

Think Jigsaw, and you could be forgiven for thinking: lace camis, crinkle cut silk shirts, and pretty average A-line skirts. So far, so 2001, right?

Fast forward to RN and, lo and behold, Jigsaw has picked up the pieces (more like hoovered them up and blasted them out of a confetti cannon), metamorphosing into one of the buzziest, most talked about fashion brands of spring 2023.

How? At the helm, they installed CEO Beth Butterwick (ex-Karen Millen) and creative director Jo Sykes (ex-Nicole Farhi). Their mission? A digital-first strategy, both dialogue and data-led, drip-fed with a generous side of dopamine dressing.

Menswear and kidswear had become a distraction to the womenswear business and the women’s offer had become bland and homogenised,’ Butterwick told the Financial Times. ‘The product has completely changes,’ said Sykes, hopefully while doing a happy dance.

From a fashion editor’s POV, Jigsaw has manifested The Dream. It’s pieced together the key building blocks of any cool woman’s capsule wardrobe, while simultaneously dropping the kind of fresh, new, frenzy-inducing, bound-to-be-a-bestseller, waitlist-worthy buys reminiscent of the olden days when millennials would queue up for that dress, IRL – and all without alienating Jigsaw’s core customer.

Throw in a sprinkling of Sarah Corbett-Winder magic (the stylist and wardrobe whisperer – above – is a fan) and it’s official, Jigsaw has SS23 all sewn up. Need more proof? Here are its five best bits…

If you buy ONE dress in 2023? Make it this 🧩

The missing piece in your forever wardrobe, this dress keeps selling out. If it is in stock as you read this – buy it, call it fate, and try not to feel too smug about it.

Available in black and blue crepe and cut in Jigsaw’s bestselling, most flattering silhouette (thank you, V-neck and angled waist seams), it even has elasticated cuffs, so you can push up the sleeves at your leisure. Next up, there’s…

The trending tank

Sweater vest, knitted tank top – whatever you call it, there’s no denying that layering tanks are having a moment. Shaking off all Chandler from Friends connotations is Jigsaw’s versatile, suits-all soft cotton tank, best worn over shirts (striped for SS23) or to pep up an old dress.

The carpe diem dress

No stranger to dopamine dressing, Jigsaw’s success lies in part to their best selling, highlighter bright dresses, with sculptural sleeves, invisible zips, skimming skirts (designed to drape) and push-up cuffs. Next season’s hit comes in perk-me-up pink silk. Too good to save for best.

The timeless trench

Patterned in house, Jigsaw offers a new-season twist on the classic trench, with dropped shoulders, storm flaps and a cinchable waist. Undeniably cool, it’s equal parts weatherproof and timeless, and comes with zero regrets as standard.

The spot-on shade

Cut in a wool blend from Japanese mil Takisada and featuring a melton fabric contrast undercollar, this chocolate co-ord is The One for anyone looking to fast-track their way to forever fashionable. But it’s the colourway that’s most coveted for spring 2023 – worn with burgundy, blue, camel or khaki, bijou brown is undeniably haute right now.
