No one spends more time browsing on the John Lewis app than our team of fashion and lifestyle journalists. So what will they be checking out come payday?
My 20-month-old (I know that’s annoying, but she’s not yet two, and older than one-and-a half) is growing like a weed. I can’t keep her in her current clothes much longer than a month and soon she will (literally) be as tall as me. Feet: don’t even get me started. They’re growing even faster, and suddenly none of her socks or shoes fit her. So Crocs (yes, I succumbed to the trend), these adorable days of the week socks and an oversized Barbie-pink sweatshirt it is. She’s especially obsessed with bubbles and cries whenever they run out, so an oversized bottle like this one is ideal to keep the bubble gun full and the tears to a minimum.
We’re off to France this week, and while I’m very much ready to hand my baby over to my parents and close my eyes, I’ve got to pack first. This ANYDAY suitcase is coming with me, plus these beaut Celine sunnies, which I’ve had my eye on for years. This super-cute towelling bucket hat and rash vest will be perfect partners during pooltime for the little one, and these water pens and cards have been a saviour on long journeys for the last few months. I’m in love with the print on this Nobody’s Child dress, so I’m hoping to snap that up when I get back, ahead of the last of this summer’s weddings. And the wide-leg trousers made it onto the list because I’ve never met a baggy pair of trousers I didn’t like.
I’m pretty proud of the fact that I believe my husband is incredibly well dressed. He invests in decent brands and very much lives and breathes his capsule wardrobe – which is why buying clothes for him can be risky. This summer, though, I’m risking it all (hopefully not my marriage) and getting him the core pieces below from three brands that I love and trust. First up: Far Afield. I adore this British-born brand for their ethics and their aesthetics.
Birkenstocks are a must-have in our household, and he’s had this exact pair in blue for quite a while, but I think it’s time for a subtle but needed upgrade to black. And La Paz? I first came across this brand in Portugal, where it hails from, and instantly fell in love. This worker jacket is perfect for summer and into autumn, and I love how versatile this sweatshirt is – easy for weekends at home and they’ll definitely be coming on holiday with us, too.
