- Bring your order confirmation email with you.
You’ll also need your ID.

If you paid entirely with gift vouchers, a gift card, Apple Pay or Paypal, please bring either your passport, photocard driving licence or your device account number from your Wallet & Apple Pay.
Sending someone else to collect your order
We're happy for someone else to collect your order, but to safeguard you from fraud, the person you've nominated must present your order number and your ID (passport or photocard driving licence).
How long will my order be held?
The collection location will hold your order for 10 days (18 days for Post Office locations), after which they will return it to our warehouse and we’ll refund your account. This may take up to 14 days to process from the date the order leaves the shop.
Can I return a Click & Collect order to a collection location?
Yes, you can return Click & Collect orders to a different local collection location.
See the FAQs below for more information on Click & Collect
Click & Collect Self Check-In
What is self check-in for Click & Collect?
We’ve introduced ‘self check-in' to create less waiting time when you’re collecting an order. You can let us know when you’re arriving and we’ll start preparing your order for collection.
How do I use self check-in?
If self check-in is available, we’ll notify you when your order is ready to collect and send you a separate text message with further instructions.
When should I check in?
You can check in when you’re on your way or while you’re in the shop. Please speak to a Partner at the Welcome Desk or Customer Collection Point to collect your order.
Where should I go to collect my order?
Once you have checked in you can collect from the Welcome Desk or Customer Collection Point
How long will you hold my order for after I check in?
We’ll hold your order at the Collection Point for a maximum of 30 minutes, but we’ll keep your order in store for 7 days from receiving it, after which we’ll return the order to the warehouse and refund your account. Please note that this may take up to 14 days to process.
What if I don’t want to collect my order right away?
You can let us know whenever you’re arriving using the link in the text message.
Can I still ask for my order when I get to the shop?
Yes, you can choose to check in on the device in store or simply ask a Partner for your order when you arrive.
Can I check in from the car park?
Car park collection is available in some locations. Please park in one of the marked collection spaces when you arrive at the shop and use the link in your text or email to check in. Your parcel will be brought to the car.
Why is Click & Collect not available for my order?
If you’re not given the Click & Collect option at checkout, some of the items in your order are not eligible for this type of delivery.
Our collection services are only available on items which can be delivered by a single courier, so heavier items which need two people to carry them won’t be suitable for Click & Collect. In addition, items only delivered by our approved suppliers won’t be available for Click & Collect as they'll be delivered direct to your home.
If you’d like to Click & Collect, please place a separate order with the items where the option is available.
Why isn't my Click & Collect order showing as available to pick up tomorrow?
Our order deadline is at 8pm for next day collection where available (not all locations offer next day collections); on rare occasions, we may need to bring this forward, but you'll always be shown the earliest collection date in checkout.
How will I know when my Click & Collect order is ready?
You will recieve an email when your order is ready, confirming your chosen shop.
I've lost my order confirmation email or text message - What can I do?
Please check the junk mail folder within your email account, as occasionally confirmation emails can end up here.
Otherwise, if you were logged in to your online account when you made the purchase, simply sign in and find the order number from the relevant purchase. Make a note of this and bring it to the shop when you collect.
If you weren’t logged in at time of purchase, we may still be able to release your order if collecting from a John Lewis & Partners store only. Bring your photo ID or passport and quote your name and postcode to the collection Partner at the desk.
To keep your order safe, we don’t let anyone collect on your behalf unless they have your order number and their photo ID.
I haven't had an email or text message to confirm my order has arrived - what should I do?
If you ordered before 8pm, your order will be available to collect the next day from 3pm (dependent on your chosen location); so please wait until after 4pm to contact us. If there’s any delay to your order, we’ll text you (if you’ve given us your mobile number) to let you know.
If you still haven’t received a confirmation message after 4pm the following day, our Customer Services team should be able to check the location of your parcel. Call them on 03456 049 049 7am - 11pm, 7 days a week.
What do I need to bring with me when I collect my order?
When you collect your order, we'll ask you for:
- The 9-digit order number and
- The name on the order
If you paid by credit agreement, you'll also need to bring:
- Your passport or
- Your photo driving licence
Someone else can collect the order for you, unless it was paid for by credit agreement.
If you're collecting an age-restricted item, such as alcohol, please bring proof that you're aged 18 or over. It's our policy to ask this if you look younger than 25.
Can someone collect on my behalf?
We're happy for someone to collect your order on your behalf, but to safeguard you from fraud, there are a few things they will need to bring.
If someone else is picking up your Click & Collect order for you, they'll need to bring your order number and their own photo ID.
If they're picking up your order from one of our local collection points, they'll need to bring your order number and your photo ID. If it's an Evri collection point, they need to bring the ready for collection confirmation and their own photo ID.
If you bought the items through a credit agreement, you'll need to collect the order in person.
How long will you hold my order?
We’ll hold your order for 7 days (Click & Collect), 18 days (collect from Post Office) or 10 days (other collection points). After that, we’ll return it to our warehouse and refund your account. This can take up to 14 days.
What time shall I pick up my order?
You can collect after 3pm on your chosen day, but please wait for our email or text confirmation before you set off. Please check the opening times of your chosen location as they all differ. Please note: during browsing time on a Sunday you won't be able to collect your order if you have chosen to collect from one of our shops.
Where do I pick my order up in store?
John Lewis & Partners and Waitrose & Partners shops
When you arrive, you’ll need to find the Partner managing the queue at the front of the entrance who will show you how to collect your order. If you only wish to collect an order, you’ll be directed straight to the collection point and won’t be able to do any further shopping. If you wish to shop, please stay in the queue and collect your order as normal when you enter the shop.
Look for the 'Customer Collection Point' in John Lewis & Partners or the ‘Customer Services’ desk in Waitrose & Partners, where there’ll be a Partner on hand to help. Some shops also offer self check-in devices.
The location of collection points in Shell Select, Booths and Dobbies will vary. Look out for signage directing you to the correct location.
What is Car Park Collect and which shops offer this service?
You can now collect John Lewis orders at selected Waitrose stores without leaving your car – just park in a ‘Car Park Collect’ bay, and a Partner will bring your shopping out to you.
You’ll be able to see if your local Waitrose is offering the service when you select your collection point on the Checkout page. We are currently looking at new shops where we can offer this service.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Upon arrival please follow the signs to the designated parking bays where a Partner will come and take your order number, then they will collect your shopping for you. As always, we need to see your 9-digit order number from your text message or email, and proof of ID to release your order.
Is this service available at John Lewis stores?
Not at the moment. The service is currently only available at selected Waitrose shops.
I was unable to collect my Click & Collect order, what happens next?
We’ll hold your order in store for 7 days, 18 days (collect from Post Office) or 10 days (other collection points), after which we’ll return it to our warehouse and refund your account. This can take up to 14 days.
How can I return my Click & Collect order?
