Available for Technology products including TVs, computing, audio products and small electrical products. All technology products you buy from John Lewis & Partners are guaranteed against breakdowns for a minimum of 2, 3 or 5 years.
With Protect Plus you can make sure you’re also covered for accidental damage for 2, 3 or 5 years too to match the length of the guarantee period provided by John Lewis & Partners. So, if you drop your product, knock it over, spill something on it or damage it, you can still have peace of mind.
What’s included?
- Immediate accidental damage cover (including TV screen burn), no excess to pay.
- Worldwide cover - repairs carried out in the UK
- Unlimited call-outs - no surprise repair costs
- Repairs by manufacturer-accredited engineers or by authorised engineers
- A replacement if it can’t be fixed - this might be a refurbished or remanufactured product
- Delivery of your replacement product
- Replacement TV installation
What’s not included?
- If you don’t follow the manufacturer’s instructions and/or installation guidelines
- Failure of items replaceable by you, such as fuses and bulbs
- Loss, theft, cosmetic and deliberate damage
- Breakdown or accidental damage covered by another guarantee
- A mechanical or electrical breakdown

- Breakdown cover - when your guarantee expires.

What’s not included?
- Loss, theft, cosmetic damage, neglect or deliberate damage.
- Costs from not being able to use your product or damage to other property.
- Any accessories (other than those provided with your product).

- Costs arising from unauthorised usage

FURNITURE
RELAX KNOWING YOUR FURNITURE
CAN BE COVERED WITH PROTECT PLUS
The duration and conditions of your John Lewis & Partners guarantee will vary depending on furniture type.
With Protect Plus there won’t be any surprise repair costs for the next 5 years. Protect Plus cover includes rips, tears, spills, burns, damage caused by pets (limited to 2 claims) and we’ll replace the product if it can’t be fixed.
What’s included?
- Immediate accidental cover - no excess to pay
- No surprise repair costs
- Repairs by expert technicians for:
- Stains, rips and tears
- Burns, liquid marks and heat rings
- Damage caused by your own pets - limited to 2 claims for the duration of the policy
- Structural damage arising from accidental damage
- A replacement if it can’t be fixed - standard delivery is also included.
What’s not included?
- Cost arising from wear and tear, age and normal use
- Neglect, damage during assembly and deliberate damage
- Structural damage that’s not a result of an accident

It’s designed to meet the demands and needs of customers who wish to insure their furniture against accidental damage that causes visible or structural impairments such as staining, ripping, tearing, burn marks, scratching, puncturing, scuffing, chipping, dents or breakages. .

Eligibility
- You must be 18 years old or over and resident in the UK
- Your product must have been purchased or (if delivered after purchase) received by you less than 60 days ago and be in good working order when this policy starts
- Your product must have been bought from John Lewis & Partners
Purchasing a policy
- You can purchase a policy with your technology, appliance or mobile product online or in branch
- You can also purchase a policy within 60 days of your product purchase by calling 0333 000 4994.
- You should be aware that extended warranties are available from other high street outlets, insurance companies and other providers. Some household contents insurance policies offer cover for accidental, fire or theft.

You’ll be able to create your own My Protect Plus account online for all Protect Plus products (excluding Protect Plus Furniture) at www.myprotectplus.com

Refunds & Cancellations
You can cancel your Protect Plus policy at any time. Should you wish to cancel your policy, please contact us on 0333 000 4994 (8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 6pm Sundays and public holidays). Otherwise, please return to store with your documentation and receipt. You do not need to return your product to the store. You can also cancel by visiting www.myprotectplus.com or by writing to Domestic & General Insurance PLC, Leicester House, 17 Leicester Street, Bedworth, Warwickshire CV12 8JP.
If you cancel the policy within 45 days from receipt of your documentation or from the policy start date, whichever is later, you will receive a full refund of the premium paid.
After 45 days you may cancel the policy and will receive a pro rata refund of the premium you have paid based on the number of full unexpired months of cover remaining, regardless of whether a claim has been made, except where the Policy has ceased as detailed under ‘Our right to cancel your policy or bring it to an end’ in the Terms & Conditions.
If at any time we arrange to replace your product with a new or refurbished replacement device or give you a gift card settlement, your policy will automatically end. For home appliance policies we’ll then refund the premium paid by you for the remaining full months of your policy. For technology, mobile phone and furniture policies no premium paid will be refunded.
If this policy has been provided free of charge then you are not entitled to a refund.
Complaints
Protect Plus is a Domestic & General product created exclusively for John Lewis & Partners. Domestic & General Insurance PLC is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.
