The best Christmas outfits for babies and kids
Festive attire they’ll really want to wear
Whether it’s for a carol service, Christmas day lunch or chill time at home in cosy matching PJs, what’s better that letting the kids get dressed up during the festive season?
Dressing for the big day
Strike the balance between making them look their cutest while also ensuring they’re comfortable enough to still run riot on the most exciting day of the year. We love little rompers, jumpsuits or loose trousers and a Christmas sweatshirt. No bow tie or waistcoat required.
The coolest Christmas jumpers
Kids grow out of Christmas jumpers as quickly as they grow into them so buy something that works beyond 25 December while still bringing the ho-ho-ho. We’re all about well-made Fair Isle knits worn slightly oversized now (roll up the sleeves) so that they’ll still fit next year.
Winter warmers with added cool
The cosiest hats, gloves and scarves are always a must-buy for kids at Christmas. Our tip? Get something bright and/or patterned so it won’t blend in among a million other forlorn knits in the school lost property come January.
Matching PJs
Oh, come on. If there’s one time of year to get matching PJs for all the family, it’s now. Your Insta feed demands it. If you’re new to the fun, dip a toe in with a red check or go full Nutcracker – well, it is Christmas…
Something for the littlest ones
Baby's first Christmas? Then the choice is all yours. One of the John Lewis Editorial Team once dressed up her four-week-old as a tiny baby reindeer. Because, why not?
