No one spends more time browsing on the John Lewis app than our team of fashion and lifestyle journalists. So what will they be checking out come payday?
I won’t lie to you, I’m thrilled that last week is over. The hottest day of the year. In September. While pumpkin spice has made a comeback? It’s a no from me. At the risk of sounding whiny, I hate heat like that – I was born in very rural northern Scotland and, to be honest, I’m just not cut out for it. For the temperature to be back in the low 20s with the potential of it dropping to the teens sounds fantastic to me. Transitional wardrobe, we’re back in business (and I can stop trying to make my husband’s boxers pass as shorts). John Lewis has a LOT of incredible brands that have recently launched, and I’m excited to stock up on a few firm favourites, including Rag & Bone, Soeur, Equipment and Rails. That green cashmere jumper? GASP.
I feel like I say this all the time but, wow, kids grow fast. I only have one, so every stage is a novelty for me. But I went through her drawers at the weekend (which I did three months ago) and she now fits into… less than half? And don’t get me started on her shoes. She’s grown an entire size in less than a month, so it’s time to stock up on anything that’ll get her through winter. Pro tip: I’m buying everything slightly too big (apart from shoes, don’t worry) so that she can wear it throughout the winter. Firm favourites? Anything that will keep her warm and dry so that we both don’t end up climbing the walls when winter sets in.
As I mentioned, I’m excited for winter. And yes, I will complain when it gets dark at 3pm and doesn’t stop raining. Nonetheless, I’m going to stock up on candles and treat myself to a new lamp (I’ve had my eye on this one for ages), and this wool blanket has already been sent to Santa for my wish list. The mug? You can never have too many and, quite frankly, I’m sick of iced coffee.
