Batsheva x Laura Ashley is here
Love statement necklines, voluminous sleeves and bold patterns? You’ve come to the right place
In 2016, New Yorker Batsheva Hay took one of her favourite vintage Laura Ashley dresses to a dressmaker and had it recreated in a variety of different fabrics and colourways. Wearing the dresses on the streets of NYC elicited so many compliments that Batsheva launched her eponymous label. Her designs aim to ‘take elements of symbolic restraint and repression like high collars, voluminous sleeves and long skirts and give them a modern inflection’. The result is beautiful pieces with punchy colours and prints that get the A-list seal of approval.
The fairytale came full circle in 2021 when Batsheva announced her first collection with Laura Ashley, taking vintage prints from the archives and pairing them with her silhouette designs. This collection marks her fifth with Laura Ashley and it’s full of gloriously bold patterns, easy-to-wear dresses and versatile separates.
