Before we arrive
- Please strip your old mattress of any linen and leave the mattress on the bed frame
- Please move any furniture close to the bed so it’s easy to access
- Please make sure the items to be collected are reasonably hygienic
What you should know
- Please note that we reserve the right to refuse to collect any item we believe constitutes a health and safety risk to our employees, or anyone working on our behalf
- Mattresses will be broken down into their constituent parts and around 98% of this material will be sold for re-use
If you've booked an installation and recycling service, we'll take your old item away from the room.

John Lewis 60 Night Comfort Trial
Our 60-night trial applied to all John Lewis mattresses, excluding John Lewis ANYDAY, John Lewis Open Spring and divan bases. This means that if you want to exchange your mattress within 60 nights from delivery you can choose a different model. For hygiene reasons, you need to have purchased a mattress protector in the same transaction. The trial is also not valid on ex shop floor display models and reduce to clear models.

Handmade in the UK, our Ultra Comfort Collection range of mattresses have a pocket spring system, an integrated pillowtop layer and the highest quality fillings and fabrics, including British wool. The result is a luxuriously soft sleep surface that provides pressure relief and support, and excellent temperature regulation.
British wool is naturally breathable and the deep layer in this mattress will help to prevent overheating during the night. It’s combined with layers made from soft and supportive polyester fillings for added comfort. High-quality steel pocket springs, as well as two layers of mini comfort springs provide support right up to each edge of the mattress, distributing your weight evenly and providing responsive pressure relief for all body shapes and sizes.
We’ve also designed the surface of this mattress from an innovative stretch knit fabric with external tufts. This maximises comfort, prevents filling movement in the pillowtop and removes the need to glue layers of filling together. It’s fire retardant, and free from traditional chemical flame retardant treatments.
We recommend using a good quality mattress protector under your bed linen to protect your new mattress from spills and stains. Plus, to meet the conditions of our 60 Night Comfort Trial, you'll need to purchase a mattress protector in the same transaction as your mattress, and ensure it is used. Browse our range here.

Large items - items delivered by two people, such as appliances and furniture
We'll collect large items from you. Collections are free if your item is damaged or faulty. If not, we charge a collection fee. To arrange a collection, please contact us.
