Expert coopers restore every oak barrel in the Speyside Valley in the Scottish Highland before being handed over to Brass Monkey for finishing and creating your ice bath.

These barrels are steeped in their own history which is why each one is stripped back, refurbished and deep cleaned before being resined and oiled. This ensures it's perfectly watertight and has locked in the original wood colour and individual look. No oak barrel is the same. They each bear their own subtle colouring and markings to make your ice bath truly unique.

Always-on UV and self-cleaning
Sink into fresh, clean water dip after dip with the always-on dual filtration system. A particle filter removes debris from the water before the UV bulb neutralises bacteria and viruses for ultimate safety. Designed to keep maintenance to a minimum. The most you have to do is change your filter every four weeks. For barrels with heavy usage you may find you'll need to change your filters or water more regular. To ensure your water stays clean for as long as possible, it's recommended to take a quick shower before you get in.

Brass Monkey app
Your expert cold water companion. Wireless connectivity allows app control, over-the-air-updates, scheduling and eco-scheduling. Get guided content and remote control of your barrel through the app. Take guided dips, and explore a world of supportive and inspiring content that celebrates your love of the dip. There are helpful videos and content on your app to keep everything simple and easy.

Barrel dimensions
Each barrel differs ever so slightly but on average they are: 120cm high, 100cm wide (120cm with fittings). Each barrel set (inclusive of barrel, step and chiller) weighs around 221kg when empty and 621kg when full of water. When filled, each barrel holds 400 litres of water, allowing for displacement when you get in. Each barrel is accompanied by an access step measuring approximately 45cm long, 75cm wide and 37cm tall. The included chiller measures approximately 74cm depth, 79cm wide and 89cm tall. Each barrel is unique and measurements may differ slightly.

Access and placement
When thinking about where you will locate your barrel, please consider that the width is 110cm and they are approx 120cm deep. Please ensure there are no obstacles, such as fences, gates, or doors that would block access. Place the barrel outside on a flat and level surface. When the barrel is placed on an uneven surface, the weight of the water (400kg+) can lead to cracks and leaks in the barrel. An example of an uneven surface would be York Stone Paving or Gravel.

Starter kit — Comes with the first 3 months' worth of filters and the UV bulb that'll need changing after 6 months. Handy videos available on the app will show you how to change them.
Remote monitoring and updates — When connected to wifi, Brass Monkey can see how your ice bath is performing. Often, they'll even detect an issue before you do. It also means they can update your software remotely, helping to keep your Brass Monkey running smoothly.
Full two-year warranty — Every product uses ultra-hardwearing materials to ensure that your Brass Monkey is long-lasting and easy to maintain. But if something does go wrong with a part, they'll make it right. Just get in touch, and the same engineers who built your ice bath will be on hand to help fix it.

Shipping and kerbside delivery
Delivery and positioning of your Ice Bath needs careful planning. Due to their size and weight, we recommend a smooth, flat and hard surface for the delivery at kerbside, which is included in the price. Brass Monkey will work with you from the moment you place your order.

Delivery and positioning
Shortly after the order is placed, you will be asked to complete a delivery questionnaire. This will provide all the information needed to ensure a smooth experience. Brass Monkey will get in touch to discuss any potential challenges and work with you to solve them ahead of delivery. Any more than three stairs, tight corridors or uneven ground typically requires specialist equipment and sometimes a crane for delivery. The location of your Ice Bath must be on a smooth, flat and hard surface. The UK Delivery & Positioning charge of £595 includes the delivery of the product and positioning of your Brass Monkey, and the removal of all the packaging.
