A dark lip can feel intimidating for those who shy away from statement make-up, but it’s a simple way to bring instant drama to any party look

Step one: Base

Use one pump of Radiant Longwear Foundation and blend with your fingertips, starting at the centre of the face where you need most coverage and working outwards towards the jawline. Apply Radiant Creamy Concealer under eyes and around the nose to disguise redness and discoloration. Set your base with Soft Velvet Loose Powder, using a cotton pad to press the powder onto your T-zone in a rolling motion.

Step two: Blush

Blush and highlight using the Hot Tryst Cheek Palette, which contains four cheek colours and two highlighters. Swirl a contoured brush over the palette to mix the cheek colours together and sweep the colour from the cheek up to the top of the ear. Next, blend the highlighter high on the cheek and under the brow.

Step three: Eyebrows and eyeshadow

Define brows with Brow Perfector: brush brows up, then start applying colour from the top of the arch, working inwards along the top line of the brow and filling in gaps. Then work outwards to fill in the tails of each brow. Brighten and prime lids with Tinted Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base – apply with your finger from the lash line to the socket and smooth with a brush. This will remove excess oil and make your eye make-up last longer and appear more vibrant. Blend the two bottom colours from the Mojave Eyeshadow Quad over the lid from lash line to socket. Push the darkest brown shade into the top lash line, working from the outer corner in, then apply it over the lower lashes working inwards – this helps lashes to look fuller from the base. Finally, apply the shimmer shade with fingers, pressing it into the centre of the lid.

Step four: Mascara

Add curl and volume to lashes with Climax Mascara – hold the wand underneath the centre of the top lashes and pause for five seconds before combing through for a lifted effect. Working from the inner corners out, use the tip of the wand to pat colour onto the lower lashes – this will keep them from looking too spidery. A moisture complex in the mascara avoids clumps and flakes, while the special ribbed brush covers even the shortest lashes.

Step five: Lips

The #30 Precision Lip Brush is your essential piece of kit for precision and to achieve depth of colour. Starting at the centre of the lips, take Audacious Lipstick in Siouxsie and draw an outline, blending colour outwards until you achieve the desired intensity.
