Festive chic meets fun in this week’s fashion edit

Feelgood dressing is Franki Dammone’s bread and butter: think bold colours, mixed-and-matched patterns, statement accessories. And her kids are just as well-dressed as she is (see Franki’s Instagram for proof). So with Christmas around the corner, we had to quiz Franki on her favourite celebrations, the traditions she loves and her take on dressing for the occasion.

‘Christmas has become a really special time for me since having my two daughters. Watching their faces light up with the magic and festive cheer is what it’s all about. We spend Christmas Eve with my Italian family for a huge seafood feast, as is tradition on 24 December in Italian culture. There’s always food, wine, singing and (badly played) instruments – it’s such a special memory for me from growing up.

‘Christmas Day means a traditional dinner, lots of games and quality family time. I'm a big advocate for dressing up. Think velvet, feathers, sparkles and bows on everything. If you can’t do it at Christmas, when can you?’

Sister Jane is one of my go-to brands for fun occasionwear. This velvet mini would look perfect with a pair of Mary-Janes at Christmas.’

‘Silver is everywhere right now and this Mango bag will add a pop of festive glam to even the most casual of looks.’

‘A good blazer is essential for party season. This tux jacket will see you through any festive occasion – and beyond.’

‘I’m loving the silver trousers trend and this Hush pair make a cool alternative to sequins. I'd wear them with trainers or boots and a crisp white tee for a cool, festive off-duty look.’

‘I’m a big fan of festive hair accessories. This velvet headband is the perfect winter colour and I've been clipping bows on to my girls’ hair bobbles this week.’

‘In your hair or on your clothes, bows are having a moment. This white top is the perfect “jeans and a nice top” piece – I also can’t get enough of Sister Jane’s bow bib smock.’

‘I’m reaching for my loafers a lot this season and love the chunkiness of this Shoe The Bear pair. Pair with sparkly socks for a nod to Christmas.’
