Most wanted: summer jeans

For most of us, a solid pair of jeans is at the top of almost every outfit consideration. But when it comes to the warmer months, they can sometimes feel a little too heavy or wintry. We’re not saying ditch your favourite pair but you might want to consider the benefits of lightening up a bit – whether that’s with the wash, weight, cut or crop.  

The front runner that immediately springs to mind is, of course, the ever-relevant white jean. If that doesn’t say summer – with a strappy sandal – I’m not sure what does. If white feels a bit too out there then try a light blue wash instead. Chambray (a lighter cotton yarn) styles are perfect when it’s hot thanks to being lightweight and breathable – there are some lovely loose and cropped styles around this season. Wide leg styles also feel good when it’s warm – akin to the freeing feeling you get from throwing on a maxi dress, perhaps?
