What we’re watching, craving and obsessing over this week

BAGS OF ETHICS Queen's Green Canopy Travel Cup, 354ml
One may eat cake, all the cake

Corgis! Street parties! British bunting! Patriotic performances! The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has been talked about for months and the celebrations are finally coming to a crescendo with a party at the Palace, a pageant and a rumoured 200,000 street parties all taking place on the same day. Whether you’re hosting your own street party or planning to attend one, go armed with your own drinking receptacle.

It’s handy to have a cup, glass or mug to hand when the fizz corks start popping. They also allow you to take along your own perfectly prepared Pimm’s or even a cuppa made just the way you like it. We’re fond of this stainless-steel reusable receptacle by Rixo. It’s engraved with the Queen’s Green Canopy Platinum Jubilee branding and will keep your drink hot or cold for up to 10 hours.

A limited-edition Charlotte Tilbury Platinum Jubilee collection
Glow like a Queen

Speaking of pageants, Charlotte Tilbury has been named as the beauty partner of the Commemorative Jubilee Pageant event, which takes place outside Buckingham Palace on 5 June. To mark the event, the brand has released a limited-edition Charlotte Tilbury Platinum Jubilee collection. It contains three jewel-inspired lipsticks, aptly named Runway Royalty, The Queen and Gracefully Pink, plus the iconic Magic Cream Moisturiser which is a staple in our beauty bag all year round.

Stranger Things 4 on Netflix
Stranger Things 4, part 1, is live on Netflix now with the second half dropping on 1 July
Return to Hawkins

Netflix’s 1980s-set sci-fi series returns for a fourth season (split into two parts) and it’s brilliant to be back in Hawkins, Indiana. It’s six months since we left the teens and while a lot has changed, the town quickly finds itself in mortal danger yet again. All the familiar faces are back – everyone’s favourite Chief of Police Hopper is trapped in Russia, Eleven has lost her powers and moved to a new high school in California, and Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will are still defying teachers and parents to save the town.

A word of warning, the first episode is a whopping 2.5 hours long and the new rather terrifying baddie Vecna is not dissimilar to the legendary Freddy Kreuger of Nightmare On Elm Street fame, so younger viewers might need company.

Bosch Indego 350 Robotic Lawnmower
The grass is always greener

Especially when you take care of it and give it a mow every now and again. Mowing your lawn encourages thicker growth so not only does it look smarter, it also makes your grass stronger. Experts reckon you should mow the lawn once a week during the summer and try and keep it to around 40-50mm long. If you want to save yourself the faff of working out how long a blade of grass is, the Bosch Indego 350 Robotic Lawnmower does the hard work for you. It operates itself, manoeuvring around any obstacle and recommending a schedule suited to your lawn size for a perfect finish.

Macerao Naranjo Orange Wine. Chilean white wine made by Luis Felipe Edwards
Orange is the new roseWhile 2021 was undoubtedly the summer of the palest Provence rose, the cult-tipple for this summer looks set to be orange wine. What is it you ask? Well, it’s white wine which has been made by leaving the grapes and seeds in contact with the juice, which creates a deep orange-hued colour. It’s a natural process that uses nearly no additives and as a result, orange wine contains a high level of vitamin C and antioxidants. Waitrose Cellars has nine varieties on offer, so your only conundrum is which to sample first.
