This cabin case from Bric’s makes “travelling light” actually possible

The golden rule of travel is to take the best carry-on luggage you can. I’m talking lightweight, cleverly sized (no longer than 55cm), with small wheels and maximum interior space. And let’s be honest, there’s nothing worse than travelling with a mediocre suitcase that has stubborn zips and drags like an unwilling child behind you (I’m never going back to two wheels).

Bric’s is undoubtedly an established brand in the world of travel (the company was founded in 1952 and the leather goods are still produced at family-run factories in Como, Italy), but it’s recognised for its durable, hard-shell styles. So how will its soft and unstructured cabin bag perform? Let’s find out.

What is the Bric's carry-on trolley?

Part of the brand's X-Collection, the Bric’s carry-on trolley is crafted from recycled nylon that’s water-resistant and enriched by signature tobacco-coloured leather details.

Its weight (or lack of) immediately transported me to cloud nine. What I mean is the case is truly light as air – it weighs just 2.5kg. Meanwhile the wheels swivel seamlessly to ensure smooth 360° movement.

The main compartment includes two zipped front pockets, so smaller essentials (think plane tickets and passports) and laptops are always within easy reach. Inside, there are two interior pockets plus straps to help you organise your belongings.

It’s available in timeless colours – olive, black and navy – to suit your pared-back personality. I'm drawn to the olive shade for a classic case with a little impact.

What makes this carry-on case stand out?

  • Weight. It’s ridiculously light, which means you can cram it full of heavy shoes, hair tools, beauty products etc.
  • Packing space. Because the trolley is not made from a rigid material, you can really fill it to the brim.
  • Silent run wheels. Made in Japan, the four wheels glide effortlessly and are perfect for efficient airport strolls.
  • Zipped pockets. There are four to choose from, making super helpful storage for laptops, passports and more.
  • Recycled fabric. A responsible choice reusing nylon that could be headed for landfill. Plus it’s water-repellent, helpful for those of us who live in the UK.

The verdict: is the Bric's carry-on trolley worth it?

Weight, durability, timelessness and craftsmanship make up a quality suitcase, and this style from Bric’s has it all. And the move to working with recycled materials is responsible and commendable.

Whether you’re a regular long-weekender in the UK or have exciting abroad travel plans, this is the carry-on luggage to accompany you. Priced at £209, I feel you are experiencing first-class luxury without the hefty price tag.
