If snoozing al desko is getting out of hand, it’s time to crack the code when it comes to sleeping well
Let’s be honest, a good night’s sleep is hard to come by after a certain age. Bills, children, world peace, irritating bosses, loud neighbours: no matter how much we know we should be sleeping for seven hours a night, the mind likes to whirl during the wee hours.
But consistently bad sleep has been linked to physical and mental health problems such as a weakened immune system, anxiety and depression, so it's worth doing what you can to reach the land of nod – and stay there – for the recommended seven to eight hours a night.
Things you can try: upgrading your bedding, spending some tub time soaking with relaxing bath oils and gleefully using pillow sprays to help unwind a racing mind.
Then there’s room temperature, how dark your bedroom is and how much time you spend on your phone before you fall asleep (yes, you really should stay off it for a few hours before bed).
Don’t worry – we’re not suggesting you buy it all at once but trying a few of these should have you dreaming sweetly in no time.
