A selection of truly unique and totally individual traditional hand-knotted rugs, this range from Gooch Oriental showcases rugs created by different artisans across town and village locations across the world, including traditional Persian creations. Each piece is carefully selected by the Gooch Oriental team to ensure it's authenticity, quality and finish. Each one is knotted by hand, an intricate process using traditional hand knotting techniques. As such, no two pieces are the same, meaning you can add an authentic and unique piece of crafted design into your home, whilst supporting this heritage industry.

This collection of Berber style rugs are woven in the village of Kaloke, a village in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Most of the people in this village are involved in weaving these berber style rugs. Each peice is hand knotted using a cotton warp as the base of the rug with the wool pile then knotted securely onto this.

On the light with dark detailed design's only natural un-dyed wool has been used. This provides depth, contrast and individuality into each peice. The multi colour options will have been dyed using modern/chemical dyes as standard to achieve desired results. The knot count is typically a 16/16 quality meaning there are approximately 256 knots per 10cm square.

• As this rug is made using natural fibres, shedding is to be expected. This will reduce over time, and should not have an impact on the lifespan or performance of your rug . When you first get your rug, please use the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner whilst the shedding dies down. After that, when vacuuming your rug, use suction only. • Attend to spillages immediately and blot with a clean, dry cloth to prevent staining. Dilute a small amount of appropriate carpet shampoo in water. Dampen a colourfast cloth in the diluted shampoo solution and dab the rug, lightly agitating, moving in the direction of the pile. Treat the whole rug and not just the affected area. To restore the appearance of the affected area, use a soft bristled brush to gently comb in the direction of the pile. Allow the rug to thoroughly dry.
