ILSE JACOBSEN HORNBÆK was founded in 1993 by Ilse Jacobsen, in the idyllic seaside town of Hornbæk in the northern part of Denmark. Authentic to their roots, the design philosophy conveys the simple and raw beauty of nature. With a distinct feminine touch, they infuse the inherent functionality of products with the feeling of comfort and style.
When living near the water as Ilse Jacobsen does, waterproof footwear is a necessity. Tired of PVC rain boots with little consideration for design and look, the Danish designer wanted to create a stylish, functional and comfortable rainwear collection for outdoor activities in both urban and suburban settings. The rain boots are produced in Europe and are made of 80% pure, natural rubber. Each individual boot consists of 27 separate parts and are assembled by hand which makes it a very slow process. Nevertheless this very process gives each boot its own unique appearance. The boots are lined with cotton fleece and have a heat insulating innersole, which makes them both warm and comfortable to wear in any weather. The Rub & Rain collection from ILSE JACOBSEN HORNBÆK presents biannual collections of new and contemporary styles supporting a lifestyle mixed of urban needs and a passion for the outdoors.

Small items
Return a small item you bought online for free to a John Lewis or Waitrose shop, or one of our return locations. You can also arrange a collection using Evri or Royal Mail.
Large items - items delivered by two people, such as appliances and furniture
We'll collect large items from you. Collections are free if your item is damaged or faulty. If not, we charge a collection fee. To arrange a collection, please contact us.
