Symmetry is a THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED harmony of striking looks and practical styling.

Aaron Dunkerton, designer of this sideboard, talked us through the unexpected design detail that gave this piece its name: 'We cut the wood and veneers and use the cut shapes in symmetry. The design creates a beautiful contrast in the direction of the wood grain, and gives a modern update to a Mid-century-inspired piece.' The contrast in form, so evident in Mid-century design, is here represented by an inlaid circle pattern on each door, quietly contrasting the neat, straight lines of the body.

It stands atop four rounded legs, giving enough clearance to store any scattered shoes, toys or assorted clutter underneath. The rounded design of the legs is classic Mid-century, as is the braced crossover arrangement that provides sturdy a base that will really stand the test of time.

Made from a combination of acacia wood, veneers and MDF. Acacia is a hardwood – the hardest of all hardwoods, in fact, and the main building material of the Royal Navy in the 18th century. It stands to reason that if it's good enough for a Ship of the Line then it's good enough for our furniture.

Brass handles and fittings, aside from serving the obvious function of opening and closing the doors, provide a subtle link back to that naval tradition.

We know 'assembling a sideboard' isn't the kind of answer you want to give when people ask 'get up to anything at the weekend?' so this product comes fully assembled. All you need is a sideboard-sized space to place it.
