Newly reimagined from an original fabric, Bamboo has been adapted from a design by E.W. Godwin in 1872 for wallpaper.
Like William Morris, Godwin was dedicated to beautifying the home. Godwin was also highly influenced by Japanese design and often used bamboo motifs in his work. Here, Bamboo is available in contrastingly warm and cool colourways.

Founded by William Morris in 1861, one of the 19th-century’s most celebrated textile designers, Morris & Co. is best known for wallpaper and fabric designs.
Morris championed handmade production, in contrast to the Victorian era’s push towards industrialisation. He wanted to provide affordable ‘art for all’ so the designs are intricate and beautiful, often drawing on the wildlife and nature he found around him.
