What’s an induction hob?

Induction hobs heat the pan not the hob using an electrical current. Induction hobs can heat a pan faster than a traditional gas or electric hob, and are more energy efficient. They’re also easier to clean, as you can wipe the hob shortly after using it. Remember, not all ceramic hobs are induction hobs.

An induction hob can only be used with induction compatible pans. You can use induction kettles (which are faster to boil than normal kettles) with induction hobs. The fine degree of control over the power of the hob is also good for tasks like melting chocolate or making a sauce.

Induction cooking gives almost instant heat that's generated directly in your cookware, allowing you to precisely control the temperature at which you cook. Great for multitasking, the T66TS6RN0 induction hob from Neff possesses a choice of 2 or 4 induction zones and 17 power settings for flexible cooking and effective heating, no matter what's on the menu.

Thanks to Neff's FlexZone feature, you can place your pots and pans anywhere within the induction zone and they will heat exactly where they stand, conserving energy and enhancing cooking results. This smart hob also comes with a PanBoost option that heats your cookware with high power before switching back to prevent unwanted burning. Similarly, the FryingSensor with 5 selectable temperature settings monitors the set temperature and holds it steady.

If you need to reposition your pots and pans on the extended FlexZone, the PowerTransfer feature makes sure the correct settings automatically follow your cookware. What's more, PowerMove divides the FlexZone into 3 modes of heating - boiling in front, simmering in the middle and warming in the rear.

Neff's TwistPad Fire is a removable, illuminated dial that gives you precise and convenient control over all cooking zones. It's held in position by permanent magnets under the hob's surface and uses sensors to register the change in direction and trigger the selected setting.
