Woven from water hyacinth, these four simple yet stylish Lam table mats have an organic circular shape and use the variations in colour of the dried plant material to create a simple block pattern and border.
Water hyacinth is a river weed in Vietnam, where these mats are made, so the local weavers Nkuku work with are using an otherwise unwelcome species in the ecosystem.

Brand information
Nkuku specialise in eco friendly and fair trade homeware and gifts, all made from natural materials using sustainable methods of production. Founded by Alistair and Alex Cooke, the name "Nkuku" was borrowed during their travels from a village in Zambia where the business plan was jotted down on the back of a paperback. Their aim was to promote the traditional skills of the artisans they met along the way.
