Product description

Product code: 41981019

Introduced in 1969, the Seiko Speedtimer was a major milestone in chronograph innovation and marked the beginning of an important decade of the Speedtimer in its prime. The 70s were famed for many things: fashion, music, but also motorsports. Designed under the theme of 'Classic Motorsports,' the 'Grand Touring' Speedtimer is inspired by, and designed to be reminiscent of, vintage muscle cars that would race down endless highways.

Encased in a navy-blue aluminium bezel and sapphire crystal glass, this chronograph features a clean-cut grey dial, with hour and minute hands that resemble the original Speedtimer from 1969. With 12 spots of Lumibrite, this timepiece is designed to be legible in darker conditions. With a chronograph second scale around the dial ring, this piece also features a Tachymeter on the bezel for measuring speed - an iconic element of the original Seiko Speedtimer.

Featuring a solar-powered V192, this Speedtimer chronograph is accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month, whilst maintaining a full charge of 6 months.

Prospex is a combination of the words 'Professional' and 'Specifications.' Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.

If you would like to return this product, you will need to take it back to the Jewellery & Watch department in one of our John Lewis Branches. Only once the product has been verified and authenticated will a return be authorised.

DEDICATED TO PERFECTION The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 22 year old Entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling clocks in central Tokyo. Just eleven years later, in 1892, he established the ‘Seikosha’ factory and built its first clock, and in 1895, its first pocket watch. Today, after 135 years of innovation, Kintaro Hattori’s company is still dedicated to the perfection that the founder always strove to achieve.
