33 megapixels of full frame detail
Delivering outstanding performance and excellent image quality in both stills and movies, the a7 IV's 33 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor provides high-speed readout, high sensitivity, low noise, and highly accurate colour reproduction. Powered by Sony's super-rapid BIONZ XR processor, get super-smooth continuous shooting, as well as high response while performing data transfers. And with a wide ISO range of 100-51200, shoot in low level light with no drop in quality.
Fast, evolved Hybrid Autofocus
The Fast Hybrid AF system, combining both phase-detection and contrast-detection AF, has evolved to achieve greater speed, accuracy and tracking performance. With Sony's 4D FOCUS, a wide, dense AF area covers roughly 94% of the image area for both stills and movies with 759 phase-detection points. Plus, real-time eye autofocus for humans, animals (and even birds!) ensures astonishing tracking results.
10 frames-per-second Burst Shooting
Both the mechanical and electronic shutters allow you to shoot more than 800 frames at up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking, thanks to the a7 IV's high-capacity buffer memory, speedy processing and improved memory-card writing speed (CFexpress Type A memory card required).
Stable shooting
In-body 5-axis stabilisation with gyro sensors and algorithms compensate for five types of camera shake to keep your work reliably smooth and crisp, however you work. Active Mode is specifically designed to keep 4K movie shooting consistently steady and sharp, alongside great new features Breathing Compensation and AF Assist.
Scintillating 4K movie detail
Record movies at up to 4K 60p / 10 bit 4:2:2, taking advantage of the a7 IV's image sensor and wide dynamic range for smooth images of even the fastest moving subjects. When recording 4K movies at up to 30p, full-frame 7K oversampling is possible, resulting in high-resolution, highly detailed 4K. Just select the mode that suits your purpose best, and let the camera do its thing.
Smart sharing
Laden with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the Alpha 7 IV lets you share your work easily, and instantly. Pair up with Bluetooth devices, or use its built-in Wi-Fi to upload to your socials, or connect to a PC or smart TV.
