Sweet dreams are made of these (Kin bags)

What is it?

It’s a bag. But it’s a great bag. A bag that will bring you joy every time you squish its oversized handle and will probably get you at least three compliments every time you use it. A bag that holds more than you think and could be used as a travel pillow if and when needed. A bag that won’t judge you if you do this. Even on the night bus.

Why do you need it?

After a couple of years in goblin mode, and a further year spent trying to re-enter society and navigate the new fashion rules, we’re fully embracing putting the fun into functionality this season. Thanks in part to viral designer padded cassette bags, the trend for juicy-looking pillow bags has been gathering momentum. See also fashion week’s favoured quilted coat silhouette – puffy textures are having a proper moment.

What the experts say

Fashion editor and content creator Penny Goldstone:

‘It’s not hard to see the pillow bag’s appeal – it’s fun, it’s cosy and, more importantly, its size allows you to fit in more than a single credit card and tissue. My pick is the off-white gathered bag as it’s so versatile. I’ll be wearing it with everything from oversized linen suits to jeans and tailored shirts.’

Wear it with

Whatever you like. Seriously. The joy of this bag is that it can spice up the most mundane of outfits, be it adding some candy colour to an all-black ensemble, or smartening up the aforementioned goblin mode tracksuit and trainers. We’re sold.
