Moodboard: 8 fabulous ways to get curve appeal

Scallop trend tround-up

In our new moodboard series, we inspire you to add a pretty, scalloped edge to your decor and wardrobe with these seashell-inspired finds

Whether or not you like the taste of juicy scallops (pan-fried in garlic and doused in lemon over some greens for me, please…), the jaunty shape of the shells they live in has inspired designers for decades.

But it’s not just about lining your bathroom walls with foraged clam shells. Instead, the pleasingly curved edges of these seaside treasures (part of the Pectinidae family, if you want to get technical about it) are popping up as a charming trim on homeware and clothing, including (fittingly) swimwear.

The Anyday Hem range of bedside tables (from £99) has proved a sell-out success since launching this spring, with the co-ordinating tall chest of drawers already out of stock. So, sign up for re-stock alerts, or clear out your sock collection and opt for the lower, three-drawer style instead. You can even go full out with scallop-edged bedding and colourful napkins.

Altogether now: ‘Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside…’
