Our Samsonite Proxis 4-Wheel Large Suitcase review

Every traveller has heard of Samsonite – and for all the right reasons. Creating lightweight and durable luggage, as well as versatile backpacks, the brand is less ‘viral hype’ and more ‘top quality’. In my opinion, investing in a proper suitcase makes all the difference. That said, I’d never recommend a suitcase if I hadn’t tested it myself, so I took the brand’s Proxis 4-wheel 75cm large model on a long-haul holiday to see if it really does make travelling a smooth ride.

What is the Samsonite Proxis Suitcase Collection?

The brand's hero Proxis suitcase collection features hard-wearing suitcases in cabin, medium and large sizes. Landing in five colourways (Black, Honey Gold, Petrol Blue, Lime and Climbing Ivy), they come complete with two carry handles, a hidden section that expands to provide extra storage space, a Transportation Security Administration (TSA)-approved lock and four whisper-quiet double wheels, which make for smooth gliding.

What makes the Samsonite Proxis 4-Wheel Large Suitcase special?

The Petrol Blue shade makes it one of the best-looking suitcases around – its enviable style will certainly catch the eye of onlookers at the airport. What’s more (or perhaps, more importantly), it’s superbly built. As well as being light and spacious, the durable hard shell meant it still looked its best (as opposed to battered) after an 8,000-mile round trip from London to Dubai.

What is the Samsonite Proxis 4-Wheel Large Suitcase made from?

The visually striking suitcase is made from super-sturdy Roxkin™, an exclusive material developed by the brand – upon impact it bounces back into shape, offering remarkable strength, resilience and lightness. Put simply, it can cope with the chaos of the airport carousels.
