The latest addition to the iCandy range is a lightweight folding stroller that really does do everything

Our iCandy Pip Compact Travel Pushchair review

Buying a buggy is a big deal, one that’s important to get right – it needs to balance comfort and style with practicality and performance, and all for a fair cost. As a first-time mum I felt overwhelmed by choice, and fell into the trap of buying a big bulky pram for my newborn… which he quickly outgrew.

Now he’s five months old and a chunky 10kg, so I was on the lookout for a buggy that was tough enough to tackle city pavements every day, support his increasing weight and take on a plane for a summer holiday. Not much to ask, right? Let’s see if the new iCandy Pip Compact Travel Pushchair is the solution.

What is the iCandy Pip Compact Travel Pushchair?

It’s the newest addition to the iCandy range. Available in Latte, BlackSage, Limestone and Sunset, this pushchair is designed for urban living (think large wheels and best-in-class suspension) and seamless travel (it’s IATA cabin-approved). Pip weighs just 7kg and is super easy to store and transport, thanks to the smooth one-hand fold mechanism (that doesn’t require you to remove the bumper bar).

What makes the iCandy Pip special?

I’ll start with longevity. It can be used from birth – the seat can lie completely flat – and, as it’s suitable for up to 25kg, this is a pushchair they simply can’t outgrow anytime soon. Plus, unlike other prams, there are more height levels to choose from than just flat or upright.

I love how light it is while still being really robust and sturdy. And, of course, easy to use – the iCandy Pip has a quick one-hand fold. I’m also very impressed that a folding pushchair can have such a tall, wide seat for growing children.

What’s more, it offers really spacious basket storage under the seat, a thoughtful handlebar height (no bending), a reversible liner that’s simple to remove and clean, as well as a flip-flop friendly brake.

Why is iCandy so popular?

Loved by mums everywhere, including Molly-Mae, iCandy is a family-owned British brand that promises smooth rides and superior quality, as well as true versatility for all families and lifestyles.

Can you take the iCandy Pip on a plane?

Yes! It’s IATA cabin-approved, but it’s still worth checking with individual airlines before travel. Plus, as the canopy coverage is excellent and the hood is UPF 50 and ventiliated, it’s ideal for travelling to sunnier climates.

Are iCandy prams worth the money?

Absolutely. You can see and feel the quality with iCandy. My Pip pram glided along pavements with no problems and got more compliments than poor Archie. Even better, Pip comes with the padded liner, removable bumper bar, built-in footrest, carry bag and rain cover – there are no extra purchases to factor in. This pram is a true game-changer and I don’t leave the house without it.
