We jumped at the chance to roadtest the fourth tool, the Chronos Conical Wand. Would it create beachy-waves for the ultimate relaxed summer vibe? Read on to find out.
What is the GHD Chronos Curve Conical Wand?
The ghd Chronos® Conical Wand is designed to create waves in your hair that’ll make it seem like you’ve just stepped off the beach. The wand has a tapered barrel to help you create these natural looking curls and it’s perfect for all hair lengths and types.
What makes the GHD Chronos Curve Conical Wand so special?
I love curling my hair to enhance it's natural wave and have always preferred a wand as opposed to a curling tong as I don't like faffing around trying to clip my hair into place. So the first huge bonus point about this wand is how easy it is to use.
Taking just 25 seconds to heat up and with a light and sound to indicate it's ready to go, the curl responsive technology responds to your hair to control heat more effectively than ever before to give you waves in just 3-5 seconds. Ideal for all of us who are time poor when trying to get ready and rush out the door.
The design is also really slick and it barely takes up any room on my dressing table. There's a super long 'professional-length' cord so you can curl even if you're far away from a plug socket and there's a brilliant safety feature that means if you accidentally leave it on it'll turn into sleep mode after 20 minutes. Although please, remember to turn it off!
Lastly, the ghd Chronos Curve Conical Wand contains brilliant technology that can recognise your hair section size and constantly adapt to make sure it gives you the optimum styling temperature at all times when styling. The curls also last longer and mine were still beachy-wavy a full 24 hours later - even after sleeping on them.

How do you use the GHD Chronos Curve Conical Wand?
It’s so easy, even for utter technophobes like me. You literally turn it on and the wand tells you when it's ready.
If you're after natural, tousled waves, section your hair into 2cm wide and deep pieces. Flat wrap the hair around the barrel for a fuller curl, holding the hair in place for 5-8 seconds. Alternatively, twist wrap the hair around the barrel to a create a beachy wave effect.
There’s a handy protective cool tip that provides you with a safe place to hold your hair in place while you curl, plus the built-in safety stand allows you to place the tong down during styling without risking a burnt carpet or dressing table.
